Plan growth. Protect what makes Ward 1 special.

  • Bronte Village maintaining its existing character.
  • Bronte GO and the surrounding intensification.
  • Navigate the Ward 1/Palermo Village interface.
  • Cumulative impacts of development.
  • QEW Traffic and access/egress around new developments.
  • Transit and parking.
  • Parks, recreation and other community infrastructure.
  • Ensuring new development doesn’t outpace the services residents rely on.

2. A Safer Bronte

A community where residents, businesses and visitors feel safe. Working with Halton Regional Police Service and other partners to improve visible, responsive policing around Bronte Harbour and the BIA, including exploring whether the Bronte Harbour Marina Office could support a stronger or more consistent police presence. We’re only going to see increased density in the years to come, and as more people move in and more people visit, crime will rise.

3. Modern Recreation

Better facilities for the people who use them. The new Bronte Streetscape Plan is gorgeous but it stops a block short.

  • Modernizing the Bronte Outdoor Pool.
  • Improving the space around Lawson Playground.
  • Better tennis facilities at Sovereign Park.
  • Upgraded change rooms & improved announcer/commentator facilities at Bronte Athletic Field.
  • Better spectator and bleacher facilities at Bronte Athletic Field.
  • Improved field lighting using modern LED technology to reduce light spill into neighbouring homes at places like Shell Park and Bronte Athletic Field.

4. A Community for Every Generation

Creating places where people can live, connect and participate at every stage of life.

  • Better recreation opportunities for older adults and seniors.
  • More accessible programs for people with disabilities.
  • Youth mental health support and programming.
  • Community spaces that bring people together.

5. A Waterfront Worth Protecting

Protect Bronte’s waterfront while keeping it vibrant and accessible.

  • Vibrant hub where the community gathers.
  • Development that serves residents, not growth for its own sake.
  • Create a welcoming destination for visitors.
  • Grow Bronte as a valuable economic asset for Oakville.
  • Make Bronte a supportive home for local businesses.
  • A go-to space for recreation and leisure.
  • Somewhere residents feel a strong emotional connection.
